i feel guilty for feeling bad. so many people have it worse, and i can't get my shit together... i feel guilty for disappointing my mom and not being the daughter she wants me to be. i feel guilty for not wanting to talk to my dad. i feel guilty for procrastinating. i feel guilty for not completing any of the goals i set for myself. i feel guilty for lying saying that i'm fine, but at the same time i feel guilty when i say i'm not fine. hell, i feel guilty for feeling guilty.

this is just overwhelming.

@gde

What's making you feel so guilty about feeling how you feel? Sometimes it feels like everyone else gets to feel a certain way, and they're fine with it, and then when you want to feel a certain way, you feel guilty for feeling that way. (I get this way sometimes.) I think we just become so concerned with what everyone else thinks of us that we feel guilty of everything we do, because we know it's going to upset someone, somewhere.

But we also have to learn that we have to not upset ourselves. After all, we have to live with ourselves more than anyone else in the world. :) So we have to work on being okay with how we feel, even if it's not how others want us to feel. If that makes any kind of sense...

@gde You've gotten through situations before, and you can get through your present situations. People can be donkeys. Rare few actually give a crap. Sometimes it's a struggle trying to sort through the donkeys in order to get to the jewels. There are diamonds in the ruff. It is okay to be sad and it is okay to be happy. Society wants you to think that you have to portray a certain face. That you have to chameleonize yourself when interacting with certain people. You are valuable as a human being. Some will see your value. I encourage you to surround yourself with as many people as possible who lift your spirits. People who promote your strengths and believe in you. As a human, you deserve to acknowledge flaws while embracing strengths. Don't let people tell you that you only possess flaws. Being human we do possess flaws, but as individuals we are a little more than that. You are worth so much more. Life is about getting through the hard times in order to get to our goals. Set a goal for yourself no matter how dark your current situation looks. If you have always been told you can't go to college, try. If you've always been told that you can't be a hair stylist, try. If you've always been told that you can't start your own business, do the research to find out what it takes, and try. Do what it takes to prove people wrong. Do it for yourself, and if nothing else, set an example for the ones that you love the most. Have a great rest of your week! I hope things get better for you!
