A large hump of responsibilities for the month has passed, a thing that was taking up a lot of my time. It was a lot of work, and now my body is tired, my mind is tired. But the past few weeks have been so busy I have barely had time to think, and there are tasks that still need to be done that I have been putting off for the big ones. But my brain has started rebelling. It doesn't want to do anything productive right now. It's throwing a tantrum, saying "I dont want to do this!!!"

I feel like if i just stick it out for another week, I can get everything done. but I can't seem to focus long enough to do anything. It's maddening.

Hi affablestrings,

I read that you are feeling inundated with tasks. I know how frustrating and overwhelming that can be. What you’re feeling is normal and your feelings are valid. Nevertheless, I would like to applaud you on completing some of your responsibilities. At times. we have a tendency to get caught up in the process that we forget to step back and acknowledge all the work that we do and all our efforts made. Expectations instill a lot of pressure on people, however, every stride we make is progress and should be recognized—you deserve a pat on the back! You’re showing up, getting through and following through the best you can, and that’s better nothing and better than some. No one knows us better than ourselves and our body will tell us what we need. I too get caught up in tasks and expectations of myself and from work/school, so I know how you’re feeling. You got this. If it helps, make a goal sheet in order of importance and give yourself a time limit to work on the task and when the timer strikes, reward yourself with a break or your favorite meal. At the end of the day, we only have so much time to get things done; there will always be work but our health, both physical and mental reaches a threshold and we must take care of ourselves. Don’t forget to put yourself first. Hope you find peace and recovery.

@gadgetgurl

Thank you! I have been stopping to take naps and breaks when I feel tired or sleepy. It's helped a lot. I'm on the last stretch of it now, and seeing the end has been very motivating.
