I only discovered I have Social Anxiety almost two years ago. It's been great knowing what's wrong with me, the down side there's a lack of help in my area. I do live in a medium size city, but most mental health facilities focus on the more common ones, or if you're a threat to yourself or others. I realized I have it through a song my brother showed me, when I really paid attention to the song it sounded like they knew me personally. That's when I did research on anxiety, and well I stumbled upon what Social Anxiety is. If anyone's curious the song is called "Buried Alive" by Citizen Soldier.

I have social anxiety as well. Had it for most of my life without even knowing until i stumbled on stuff on the internet. And it’s definitely easy to feel alone when you have social anxiety. I constantly feel so frustrated that I can’t just do normal things and enjoy certain activities like other people do.

You aren't alone here! Therapy has really helped me, so I highly recommend seeing a therapist. If you can't find a good therapist nearby, you could try virtual therapy, like a video meeting over Zoom or something. I think 7 Cups has therapists too. My therapist is far away as well, so I have phone therapy sessions (my therapist is completely blind, so a video feed isn't much use to her.) :)
