Any tips on blushing?
Well, today I met a guy who I haven't spoken to in a while, and we had a little chitchat. I was just smiling all the time and feeling confident about myself(as far as a I could). Then he left the classroom, my friend came up to me and she asked me: 'Your face is all red, don't tell me you like him. Well, do you? Do you?'. She gave me a mirror, and I was red like a tomato. I don't want people to misunderstand me because of my social anxiety. I blush in front of most people who I am not used to talking to, and i think I am leaving the wrong impression. The worst is that I don't even realize that I am blushing, since I concentrate on what I am saying to the person I am speaking to. Does anyone have tips for stopping it, or making it a little less noticeable? Any tip would be useful.
Thanks for taking the time to read this:)
I know how you feel. But not much can be helped. we naturally redden when we're embarassed, excited, in love and various other reason and unfortunately for us we got the tomato gene. For me I just wear a small layer of foundation but that wouldn't hide much. Usually my face goes extremely hot when I'm embarassed so I can tell myself to calm down. Unless you can feel yours there isn't much you can do but just to keep your heart rate down when you need to.
@YellowSunshine6 Thank you for your answer. At least now I know there are other people like me out there.:)
It comes from nervousness and anxiety when talking to people. The best way to overcome it is to slowly get better with talking to people :)
Once you become more comfortable conversing with people, the neverousness will naturally decrease and so will the blushing!
@AdVictoriam I'm doing the best to be more social, so I hope it'll get better. Thanks for the advice:)
Everyone has at least some social anxiety, ranging from all social interactions to something like public speaking. By practicing you get better at managing emotions, especially anxiety and nervousness
@AdVictoriam I hate public speaking so much. I'm not sure I can overcome that one:(.
Baby steps. Let's work on just talking without feeling anxious or flushed first ^-^
