Constantly embarrassing myself in front of people

Hi. I have social anxiety ever since and I'm trying my best to deal with it. I managed to make friends and it was going really well. But when there is a presentation, where I need to talk or do something in front of other people I get too shy, almost like I will not remember everything what I have practiced in presentation because my mind goes blank. Because of that I always make mistakes in front of other people and I feel so embarrassed and ashamed of what I did. I lose confidence of myself and sometimes think that I always act stupid and cringey in front of other people. I always end up saying wrong things because I always stutter and I act awkwardly because I feel extremely shy. This has been affecting my mental health lately and worst case scenario is that I had a panic attack lately because I made a mistake and embarrassed myself again in front of people. It makes me hate myself because why I can't act normal like everyone? I feel ashamed on what I did, I cannot stop overthinking it because some people have laugh at me. It affects my self esteem.

Hi Fxye, I can undersand you completely. It sometimes even affects my studies. Professor asks me something in front of everyone and I say the wrong things even if I know the subject. One time I was ashamed of myself for like a month, I thought that everyone hated me because I sounded stupid. In these times I udually connect to my family and friends and tell them how I feel. That helps. But unfortunately I havent found a real solution:( If you want to talk about it sometimes, maybe feel better that you are not alone. Dont hesitate to text me!

A common thing to help with this is that many of the same people you talk to have social anxiety themselves. So the trick is to remember this & talk to them the way you would wish to be talked to yourself.

Something that might help is to not focus on yourself and focus on the people you're about to serve. When we get too self conscious stuff like this is bound to happen. So try and focus on the task and best of luck. Don't beat yourself up over this.
