Its because you see I'm going to 8th grade in September and like we apply for high schools and parents want me to get into a specialied high schools but you need to take a test called shsat and thats really hard even if your super smart,so since its summer my parents are going to put me in this tutoring but like theyre going to put me for 5 days a week and each day is 4 hours so like for one week it is 20 hours, and like for homework they give you a packet and since I have like 5 packets and theyre really big and hard and it'll take me a long time to do it and I only have two days off and I also have to do my summer homework from my tutoring in school, and like its so much stress and I barely have time to relax and my parents wont give me a personal tutor because I had some in the past but my parents thought they weren't that great and they Have like 0% confidence in me and we got our report cards yesterday and My average was an 85.8 but they wanted me to get 90 or above and they got really mad but last year for my finals I got 92, but they were still mad since my friends they knew got 95 averages and my parents are really pissed since they all got 90 or higher and I got like 85.8 and like my parents never are proud of me no magtter what grade or how well I do and I just feel like giving up on everything and like Im so dumb and like I'm like a dissapointment in my family and I'm not the daughter they wanted and I just don't see a reason to live and not even my friends care about me

@yolosabrina66, that does sound stressful! I'm sorry things aren't going well. Have you tried talking to your parents about how stressed you feel? Maybe they aren't aware that they're putting such a burden on you.

I have felt bad at times because I felt that my older sister was "smarter", since she just was able to take on more challenges as far as school goes. I'm different, though. I get stressed a lot more easily and I prefer creative things to regular studying, so it's hard for me not to get distracted. Also, just because your grades are a bit lower than other people's doesn't mean you're not as smart. Actually, there are many different kinds of intelligence--such as athletic, musical, verbal, and social intelligence. Of course not everyone is going to be the strongest in the type of intelligence that does well on standardized tests.

I hope this helps! :)

@neatBalloon7178 Thank you that did help me cheer up a little. BUt I have tried to talk to my parents about it, but they keep saying I don't try hard enough and they keep comparing me to my friends and how high theyre grades are,but I feel like I won't get into any sepcailized schools since the test is really hard even if your super smart

That sounds like a lot of pressure that you're under and it's not fair that you're feeling unsupported by your parents. It's overwhelming to have to deal with applying to high schools on top of the school work you have to do regularly. Try to find some time for yourself to relax. Something nice that's just for you. There are some cool mindfulness exercises on this site that help me calm down when I'm feeling anxious and overwhelmed with everything I have to do. Maybe you would find them helpful too.

Please stay strong and know that you are not alone. heart
