Having Trouble Making friends
Hi there,
I'm a 19-year-old college student and I can't seem to make friends to save my life. I've looked into clubs and organizations but they all meet at 10 pm or later on weekdays. There are two problems with that. First, I commute to school; my parents drive me because I'm such a nervous wreck behind the wheel that I don't have my license yet. To drive me to school at 10 pm isn't convenient. Second, the fact that they're on weekdays. Gotta get up early to get to class on time. I lay in bed for a good ten minutes trying to calm down and work up the motivation to actually get out of bed. I actually have to talk to myself into getting up. When I finally do, it takes me forever to get ready; if I'm sleepy from being out all night I'd start missing classes. Missing classes = more anxiety.
As you can probably tell, there's a trickle-down sort of thing. One anxiety leads to another, which leads to another. On top of that, I have social anxiety. I recently began speaking up in class for the first time all semester. While this was a personal success that I'm proud of, I don't think I'd be able to speak up and take part in a club. But I really want to. Could anyone please spare some tips on how to make friends?

Hellow there! I know I'm late, but I'll reply anyways :p
I'm sorry to hear this, and I know that "Anxiety domino" expirience all to well. One anxiety leads to another *sighs*.
I don't have much friends either so I can't give you any useful tips :'(
Maybe this article could help https://www.scienceofpeople.com/how-to-make-friends/

Hehehew, no problem <3
Six months ago, I was just going to work and coming back home, and barely leaving the house even on weekends and evenings before days off.
After my therapist mentioned MeetUp, I signed on for events that (1) I was interested in and (2) I would be comfortable attending (e.g. not too big a crowd) ... and although making friends for me is still a slow process, I am much more optimistic about it than before
I upvote Meetup.com and there are some apps just for making friends now. Like Patook which is strictly platonic. It matches up people with similar values, interests and lifestyles in your area.
