Highly anxious when it comes to talking to people

I am highly anxious when it comes to talking to people, and currently its eating me up so much. I get out of words and froze whenever i have to talk to someone. I feel like they'll just laugh at me or this how dumb i am. Its a constant fear which is making me more of an introvert every single day. Whether its asking doubts in classes, or giving interviews even if i am all prepared have all knowledgeable i just can't put myself out there and show them my potential. Or if it's making new friends. I just don't get it how people do it. And no matter how hard i try i just can't talk. Can anyone please tell me how to feel confident and just talk without having anxiety.

Hello sv08, I struggle with the same type of anxiety. Due to my work I do have to put myself out there more than I may be comfortable with. I know I have reasons for this anxiety that I need to work on and I am sure you do to. But one thing I find beneficial when I am especially anxious when talking to someone is to imagine they are just as anxious, but they are just good at not showing it. I like to pretend I am confident and I act like I am not anxious. I find this can be helpful to me. My hands however, shake in controllably when I am anxious which is so embarrassing so I have made a habit of keeping my hands behind my back to keep the confidence "lie" going 😉 There are often times when I do this, that later I will confide in a friend and explain how deathly anxious I was and they are surprised because I carried the "confidence lie" very well. Getting that feedback is a great feeling! 😁 Maybe give this technique a try? Molamoon 🌙
