How to stop staying up late?

AI told me it must be because sleep time is the only time I get full peace and don't feel stressed or anxious about my family members, so my brain relishes it as much as possible being a 'rare commodity'. Which makes sense. Tbh every human interaction gives me anxiety; I might have social anxiety.

Now how to fix it? I can't be running late everyday! (But it's okay. It's not the end of the world and I don't have to be perfect.)

If you can, focus on the benefits of a thoroughly good sleep.

1. I'll feel more alert and better rested.

2. I'll have more energy.

3. I'll have more time to get things done faster.

4. I'll feel more productive.

5. I'll feel tired earlier, so I can really relish my night time

@ScrabbleBrain

The thing is I kind of have insomnia so going to sleep just brings me stress that I'm not able to sleep..

Thank you for the input!

@discreetPlace4219 Aw I have that too and it's frustrating. Have you tried asmr sound effects?

I really find it relaxing on a loop, rainfall, beach waves etc

Hm I haven't. I put on something to listen to but my mind races with thoughts

I'll give that a try. Thank you for the suggestion!

@discreetPlace4219 No problem, you can always jot down some notes before bed to clear your head.

Or practice saying. Listen Brain, it's been a long day and I'm really tired. Let's continue these thoughts tomorrow, Ok? Great, night night.

I would also love to know the answer to this lol. I sleep so many hours but barely feel rested. On the outside it looks like I'm just lazy. But I feel like everytime I wake up, I'm like velcroed to the bed (not literally) and it takes so much energy to just get out of bed. It's nice to know I'm not alone in this. 😊

I also have a hard time falling asleep at a decent time. It's usually 1am or 2am that I finally fall asleep.

@montia94

You're definitely alone!

Right now what has helped me is to stop worrying about sleep (anxiety pushes sleep further back, ironically) and just calm my nervous system down. Try to push away any thoughts. And only go to bed if I'm actually sleepy. My sleep is kind of getting better a little bit, so that's good. But I've only started doing this recently. We'll see how it works out
