I cant go anywhere
My social anxiety has been really high lately and it seems more out of control I used to just calm myself down and fidget with something or take my mind off of it, but lately it seems like I’m a foreigner in anyplace I go because I have a hard time speaking up and here’s an example one day I had errands to run and so me and my mom went to the house of the dog sitting job I was doing and I was really anxious like a 10/10 and it was really embarrassing because the owners asked me multiple times if I was okay and my mom tried to help me but I have a hard time making eye contact so they probably thought I was on drugs and I felt pressured to explain to them what was going on but I couldn’t say anxiety because sometimes people look at you weird but after that we went to the pet store and right when we walked in a lady was trying to sell us something and my mom saw me clam up so she took the sample and thanked her and then we got to the register my mom forgot some cash so we went back to the car to get more and she told me to buy it and I was just a little anxious about it but it was like a 5/10 the next errand was breakfast and honestly I think my mom was also trying to cheer me up anyway so we get to Dunkin’ and my mom always orders through the app so that she can just walk in and grab it but she asked me to get it so I walk in and see our bag and her coffee so I hand her the bag while I get in the car but she says that my order wasn’t in there so I go back in and look for another bag with her name and nothing and all the employees are doing a deep clean so I just stand at the counter waiting after a while someone comes in and orders a coffee so I order after them and the girl at the counter is my age so she was very understanding and gave me an extra donut which made my anxiety go from a 9/10 to a 3/10 and bc that was the last place we had to go

Hi friend ❤ Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm really glad to hear about the kind girl who gave you a donut- there really are good people out there.
The anxiety you're experiencing sounds so difficult, intense, and consuming. I'm so sorry to hear that this is your reality right now.
I'd really like to encourage you to reach out to a mental health professional, as it seems like this is having a big impact on your day to day life. Your primary care doctor will be able to help you by giving referrals, and helping you find the people who want to help you.
Otherwise, I hope we here at 7Cups can be a safe place for you to feel accepted, supported, and wanted.
