I am 30 years old and i am terrified that i dont know how to be on my own. I have been taken care of by my aunt and then my mother. I want to leave, be on my own, be my own person but i dont know if i can.

Is there any specific reasons that make you feel that way? Are you suffering from disability?

I had been recieving ssi since i was 18. I had been sick and now better so it was removed a year ago. I had my mother taking care of all my things or doctors and i feel like i should now be on my own. But i have never had to deal with "real" life before and wont be able to. My mother is now sick with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, if something happened to her i dont know if i would be able to do anything on my own. It all just keeps me up at night with what ifs.

Same here. I'm 33 yrs old. Worked in a family business because i was to shy or afraid to go out and find work. But i got tired of the constant nag from a family member. Now I'm jobless. Scared to go out to look for work. I don't know where to even start. What to do or what i need to get things done. I was relying on my mother to do the thinking for me. She's gone for 2 years now. Corona was just an excuse for me not to get work and stay at home. My aunt is taking care of me right now. But my aunt will be retiring this August. She keeps bugging me to find work. I do want to work. But the more i try to think about it and what to do, the more i panic and i just shut down and not think at all. I'm a coward, I know that, but even hearing a doorbell and going out the door is so hard for me. I cant even go outside a few seconds to get the package. I hide whenever i hear the doorbell. I go to my room and listen to music to distract myself of what's happening around me.

I have anxiety, Major Depression, diabetes, & high blood pressure. I just recently learned how to fully drive a car and truck and got my driver's license. I have been living in my own apartment for 6 1/2 years now. I had completed the general educational development tests and had earned my high school equivalency diploma. I had earned an undergraduate certificate in psychology from a completely online university that is nationally accredited and a B.S. in Psychology from a completely online university that is also nationally accredited (accredited by an accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council of Higher Education). I have a "Fundraising 101" certificate and have earned a total of 0.9 IACET CET. I have did baby sitting jobs, helped my mother when she got sick (healthcare), remotely volunteered at none profit, charity organizations where I had achieved results at, remotely worked as a "online shopper" with Jet.com; Inc. where I was paid $15/hour (the work had only lasted for a month but I was paid twice for it), and did remote freelance gigs that had paid $5-$50 (mostly only on as needed basis or as I had felt like doing). I had completed head start & grades K-10 at school. I had made it to the 11th grade. I had to withdraw from high school because I was going through the 1st hate train against me, bad era for me, and hard times on me that I was dealing with from the years of late 2005-2011. Also, I had no friends and couldn't stand almost anybody in my grade and many people at the school that I had went to. My sister was in college and was no longer going to that school. It was tough. 😀 I am trying to get me a telecommuting job (either full time or part time) and/or a part time job in a physical, brick and mortar location that is office based (& then 2 of them); especially if I get my own separate room where I can shut the door or at least my own cubicle. #striving #goals I wish all of you the very best. 😀
