Hi everyone,

i have social anxiety and I'm also in university. I study psychology and as part of my degree, I have to perform a study, which is proving to be very difficult as it feels nearly impossible for me to approach strangers to ask if they'll participate in my study.

Its so rough when you want to do well in school but your illness is preventing you from doing so.

thanks for listening

im not sure I have anything to say that will be particularly helpful, other than that I understand. I am also at university with social anxiety. I study medicine so like you it requires lots of talking to people. It's funny, isn't it, how we study all the things that can go wrong. I know, as I'm sure you do, all about social anxiety. I have read books about it and about the treatment for it but it's very different when it affects you personally. I took a big step today and told my personal tutor about it. I had been having anticipatory anxiety about it for days but her reaction couldn't have been better. Have you spoken to anyone at your uni about it? Please don't give up, and let me know how you're doing x
