Never be too hard on yourself. Its hard to love yourself at this day and age but you have to learn to knowand UNDERSTAND your own issue before telling others. Some things are meant for you to know and you to know only

For years, Ive equated this feeling to be as though youre drowning, not ten feet away from a boat; and its all youd have to do is call out for help, but you wont.

And the only person that you can blame is yourself.

Hey there @LumaLight22 *waves* :)

Welcome here, it is nice to see you around!

I am sorry to hear/read about the way you feel. Social anxiety is very hard to deal with, and makes it sometimes close to impossible to open up and ask for help. I know that it feels almost impossible to talk about your problems to anyone, but you can maybe start to journal things. I mean the good part about it is that first you can just write things out and second if you have anyone you may feel comfortable with sometimes you can show them, and so you do not have to say a word.
I mean, of course it is still hard, I know, but from my own experience writing things down is easier then saying them out when the time comes. I mean, of course it can change from person to person but it may help for you. :)

Anyhow, I believe in you! You can do it! *hugs* (only if you are okay with virtual hugs, of course)

@redmark thank you, journaling about it seems like a great idea; because it is hard to explain out loud and when the moments have long since ended. One of my fears was that when I would be able to work up the courage, was that I would be interrupted or argued with, or I

Not sure if it's your case but I found that my social anxiety is directly linked to my low self esteem.

I stutter, don't look people in the eye, I sweat, feel SUPER sick...

However I can give you some tips and you see what helps you.

I usually do alot of breathing exercises and train my brain. Let's say I'm talking to someone and I'm freaking out. I breathe, try to talk slow so I make sense, I think to myself "this person is a human just like me, no more or less than me. They're not perfect" and I also say things like "calm down, everything is perfectly ok, just breathe".

Now if I know I'll aproach a social situation soon I use my stress ball or write. It makes alot of anxiety away. I also use apps of calming nature sounds on my phone , specially mantras.

And finally another thing I recommend is water. Always keep water around. Take a small sip of water, trust me, it really calms you down.

I hope I managed to help a little ^^
