Conclusions

I have come to conclusion that certain people really do believe that I am not intelligent just because of my Autism. Majority of the time, I get looked at funny for when I have one of the sporadic moments, then other times I get a look of disgust. Just because I have Autism does not mean that I do not have feelings and less human. Tw: entitled customer, when I was at work yesterday I had a woman on the line that was upset over her coverage (empathized with her because anyone would be) but that's when things took a turn for the worse. She started to disrespect me calling me names and another tw; racism. She started to become racist, I hung up. I felt terrible about it but i had too..

@PhoenixButterfly97

Dear PhoenixButterfly97,

I'm sorry to hear that you experienced such disrespectful and racist behavior from a customer. It's not acceptable for anyone to treat you that way, and you did the right thing by hanging up. You deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, and no one should have to endure abuse like that, especially in a work setting.

Your worth as a human being is not determined by others' opinions or biases towards your Autism. You are a valuable person who has much to offer, and you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, just like anyone else.

It's not your fault that other people choose to behave in this way. You are entitled to feel safe and comfortable in your workplace, and it's important to report any instances of misconduct or discrimination to your supervisor or HR department. You have rights, and you deserve to have those rights respected.

If you're feeling upset or traumatized by your experience, please seek support and take care of your mental health. You might consider talking to a therapist or counselor or confiding in a trusted friend or family member. You are not alone, and that there are people who care about you and want to support you. You did a courageous thing to reach out here on the Forums. There are also support groups such as the Sharing Circle and other places where you can process some of your feelings in a supportive place.

I wish you all the best as you decide how to move forward from your experience. Remember that you are valuable, you are unique, and you have the right to be respected and treated with kindness and decency.

Love ♡ and Courage 🦁, Tas 🌹

Whats even more sad is that sometimes i get repremanded from my team leads for hanging up on "snappy" customers. An im just sitting her appalled because apparently how im feeling and listening to how i felt wasnt enough for them to dismiss it
