I'm tired I'm afraid
Hello I'm high functioning autistic
I'm 26
I've never had much friends growing up or any relationships due to the fact they were into things that just didn't seem right or I wasn't interesting enough for them, most of my life is full of disappointments I'm always upsetting someone or letting someone down.
I'm tired of being worthless & stupid I've never did well in school I can even do simply tasks handed to me everything I try just fails matter how hard I try to make friends smile more laugh more nothing even working harder did nothing for me just made me look more foolish
I don't even have any good family except my mother I always got to enjoy her company every now & again even as far as yesterday I got to enjoy a board game & a movie with her, I'm glad I have that to look forward to every weekend but that's what scares me shes old & one day she's bound to pass on then I'll have no one I'll be absolutely alone not one person she's been encouraging me to go bowling and find some friends do some activities but I'm scared too I don't want to inconvenience anyone with my presence I've tried many times & failed the pain was just too much
But she bagged to to try again before she's gone ofc I told her I will & I do intend too I just have to find out what & that scares me even more
@WishfulOne
I'm sorry , this is so much for you to process.
But please don't let other people make you feel that your autism means there is something wrong with you.
Because that's not true.
Other people aren't anymore interesting than you.
There are plenty of people who would be happy to call you a friend.
I know it hurts when people let us down.
But you deserve to find your people 💙

It takes time to find the right group/people. Gave you tried joining any local groups outside of school that are focused around one of your own special interests? That's the only thing that really works for me because there's always the activity to fall back on. Connecting with your local autistic community, whether outright thru organizations and groups or inadvertently through special interests could be a great step. Let me know what you think and please know you are valid in your feelings and you are important !
Hiiiii I'm 17 and also autistic and high functioning
My parents abused me and abandoned me at 15 because they hated me and my issues
I got into sports and met coaches who rlly care
If there are any sports you like, I do golf
Being part of a group feels good because you bond with a thing you so like to do then usually go eat and stuff and the coaches usually are invested and want to help
I've done gymnastics, tumbling, cheer, weightlifting, Powerlifting, martial arts, bowling, and golf
Martial arts like kendo is a very tight knit group also karate, tae kwon do, jiu jitsu all a good way to start to connect w ppl and coaches care in my experience
Hug and make your mom a card tell her how much you love her for being around
Hope you feel better soon
Try a sport!
