Hello there, I'm Kayla Raines, but you can call me by my penname, 'PurpleDiamond2020.' Since high school, I've been autistic, realizing how different I was from other students. I had frequent emotional episodes, struggled to understand them, and lacked social skills. Lately, adult autism is more difficult to manage than when I discovered my disorder when I was a teenager. With university on the way, I don't know how to control these emotions or thoughts again.

My mom tells me to believe in myself. 'No one understands Kayla, but Kayla.' It's my business to take care of my well-being, so I'm here. Probably to understand how autistic adults function and prepare myself for true independence. I hope you welcome me with open arms and we can get to know each other soon.

Hi Kayla:

I can relate to you having gone through similar experiences at work, I have Asperger’s syndrome. I sometimes had outbursts on the job and it cost me a few jobs. I think you are fortunate because you have been diagnosed early in life and you know what you are dealing with and can seek help to understand your autism and how you can cope with it in a way that allows you to function well at school and better socialize with others. I am sure you will succeed. Best wishes. 😊
