Just a place to talk.

I just wanted to create this thread to give people like me a place to go to talk to other people that are going through similar things. My eldest son is autistic, I am his father and also autistic. Sometimes it's difficult for me to navigate parenting him. This can be a place where similar people can share stories and talk about their experiences.

@boanerges1

Thank you for creating such a kind, safe and non judgemental space 🥰

Hey @boanerges1

Thanks for the welcoming space

My experience as a late diagnosed adult has been both very challenging and very rewarding. It's been like a rebirth in many ways, both painful and awe-inspring. Happy to have come back to myself. However, interestingly, I do relate to the family thing because once I started unmasking, I have found that I practically can't anymore. It's not been awful, but is has been confusing and has changed some things. Parenting must be extremely hard for any parent, I'm sure. I don't have that experience. It's hard the other way round, too, though. Like most other social things, to me it's like one big knotted-up ball of yarn most of the time. ð§¶

Speaking of, thanks for reading my ramble if ya did
