Mom tells me "to make time to bake"

Since 2017, I have been making a cake every year for my Mom for her birthday.   Due to the stand mixer being tricky to operate, she had to supervise me doing this.  I have suggested alternatives such as me using the old-fashioned way of mixing it by hand, which is what I did my first time, but Mom insists on using the tricky stand mixer.    This is my only time of the year to bake because she's busy with church-related stuff the rest of the year or baking for others.

Last night, when I was getting ice cream out of the freezer, I found a frozen cake in there. I told my Mom today about the frozen cake, and she suggested having that for her birthday this year, but I want to make her a new cake that's not been frozen since last August. Since this is my only time of the year to bake, I don't have other chances to do any baking due to her being busy. Mom kept suggesting "I make time to try to do baking" throughout the year, but how when I would need Mom's supervision in a busy time period which is from Sept-June?

Also, Mom knows I don't like to use "old cake" for her birthday because last year she made a mocha cake for a family reunion on Mom's side and when we got home she "suggested" we have the leftover cake (Since not a lot of people ate it) for her birthday that year and I had a meltdown since I didn't want to eat a cake that Mom made, I wanted to make my own cake for her. 

Because she's busy the rest of the year, if I don't make her a fresh cake this year it means it will be two whole years since I made a fresh cake for Mom. (2023-2025), if we go with Mom's way of wanting to eat the old frozen cake in the freezer. 

Mom also suggested I "help" Mom with making the cake for my friend.  But I don't want to make a cake for only strangers to enjoy because except for my friend and her son the people eating the cake will be complete strangers for me. The cake I want to make the one I make for my Mom's birthday, I want the family to enjoy it, not complete strangers.

I want the family to enjoy it, not complete strangers to enjoy a cake I help Mom make.  I want to be the "head baker" of making a cake for the family to enjoy and not be the assistant baker for Mom for a cake for others (my friend's in-laws, or people from church) to enjoy.
