Struggle making friends
Humans are so weird. I don't know what to think anymore. I feel like a robot or alien that was put here to connect with humans and fail miserably. It's so hard for me to make and keep friends. I am relitively introverted and it seems like people dislike me for no apparent reason. All I am is nice to people. Today I was at school and I saw some kids that stood out, like not the type of "basic" kids but "weird" kids and when I asked if I could sit by them, they hesitated and said "I don't think you can" I was confused and said "huh?" Then it's like they finally gave in and said, "Ok, sure just sit down with us..." I was kind of taken aback because I was looking forward to getting recruited by them. I keep going through these scenarios in my mind where I meet someone in public and they become my friend but it never happens. And then when it does, it never lasts. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm not interesting enough for people to talk to. I'm not conventionally attractive or cool, I don't fit in. They all just ignore me, even if I keep glaring at them or atleast try to hint that I want to be friends. I gave up hope in people awhile ago.
Also, I don't have an official autism diagnosis although I was diagnosed with it a couple of years ago from my school. I just put this here cause I thought this would be relatable in this forum.

I feel for you having to deal with this situation. School settings can be a challenge often times due to cliques. Do you have any special interest's or hobbies? I am curious, what are your thoughts on our community groups and listeners?
As of right now I would say my biggest interests and hobbies are music, astrology, drawing, and poetry. I'm new to this app so I don't have much experience with the community groups or listeners, this is actually my first post. But I'm willing to open up a bit if that means I step out of this lateral movement.

Awesome, you are creative! You have so many talents waiting to be developed. As you explore and develop those talents, you will gain insight and confidence in as to who you are. You might want to look into the Newbies community. That may be a good starting point. Good luck on your journey!

@independentMango9865 I'm also autistic and you are definitely not alone in feeling like this. I find it so confusing that people do not just say what they mean and I don't understand how I am so different from everyone else and why I should keep friendships. I thought I might have been the only person in the world that has scenarios where I make friends but I see I'm not alone in that. Feel free to talk if you ever want to ask anything but I agree with the person above social groups are a great way to make friends :)
