BIPOLAR MOTIVATION

January 26th, 2019

Hey everyone! I wish to write something on dealing with Bipolar disorder with the hope that it motivates & inspires. With Bipolar, its very hard at times to pass days, and at other times it can be very exhausting, but with proper treatment and care we can learn to live with it better heart. Below are some quotes by famous personalities who have Bipolar and are successful in their respective fields:

Marya Hornbacher (American author, freelance journalist) quotes " the leap of faith is you have to believe or at least pretend you believe in till you really believe that you are strong enough to take life Face on"

Maria Carey (singer) "it was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply could not do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I loved - writing songs and making music "

Demi Lovato (singer) states "If anything, I'm proud to be bipolar and speak about it. Bipolar is a mood disorder. I deal with mood swings, I deal with episodes of mania, and bipolar-depression phases as well. But I've used my voice to help others, and I feel proud that I've been able to do that".

These are the people who have bipolar but they did not let it define them. If they can, so can we with the help of proper treatment, medicines (if prescribed), therapy and good self-care techniques.

In the end, I would like to share the words of our therapist Liaison @JamieSclafaniLMSW "Always make yourself a priority .You have to take care of yourself, no one else will.

@fancySummer52

thanks Summer for posting and sharing such an inspiring post, I have also gone onto the links you provided and it has been really helpful and insightful. I think I will try out some of the techniques.

Its great to know that even successful iconic celebrities have bipolar and they have come out to share. I think bipolar and all other forms of mental health needs to be more talked about and so it becomes less of a stigma lso that it becomes the norm that we can find ways to better manage/ take care of ourselves... because mental health is just as important as physical health. And it is nothing to be ashamed of!

This community is awesome and I hope to learn more about bipolar disorder so that I can help. Also I think that Isaac Newton is a good hero that might have had bipolar.
