Bipolar

I have been having ups and downs.

I take pills but it seems like the lows are so extreme I'm not even myself anymore.

I feel the depressive episodes so much that I feel like nothing can help me.

But taking more pills. Which only temporarily helps.

I have been taking my pills mostly correctly but I am so exhausted from the mood swings and need to feel more stable.

I'm just venting. I don't know how anything can help me. I've even been to several psych wards and psychiatrists and I am just exhausted.

Can anybody else explain their bipolar moods and how they manage? Maybe it could give me some hope.

Hello Sky,

I know what its like to struggle hard with depression and anxiety and they feel off each other until we are just too overwhelmed to think straight. You at the right place; 7Cups has so many kind people who all help each other! Have you tried writting down your thoughts or making poems, art, or any other distraction that you have an interest in? It helps me to have created a little daily routine and 7cups is a big part of mine. Sending you strength and calmness!

Blessings, Day

Hi Sky,

Dragging yourself through depressive episodes is exhausting and going through multiple treatments and seeing a number of practitioners and being in and out of hospital would make anyone downhearted.

I know with my own struggles with bipolar it took a long time to find medication that actually worked.

When I am depressed I just keep things to a minimum, just do the bare necessity, and allow myself days in bed or on the couch where I can. I also avoid situations and people that might upset me even more.

I know using a mood journal and rating your mood on a scale of 0-10 with 0 being severely depressed and 10 being completely manic can be helpful for others. Another suggestion that I got was to look at messages whether its online, text, or whatsapp, and see if you can track your moods through how talkative you are and the emojis you are using. It may help identify triggers.

Ultimately, just go easy on yourself, know you have an illness, it's not you. One day at a time. <3
