Depression/isolation questions
Hi, newbie here. My boyfriend is in a depression cycle for the last 3 weeks, which is when the last I heard from him (we do not live together). He has totally shut down and has isolated himself. He goes to work and home only. He has not responded to calls or texts. I have no idea if he is even reading my texts. No comments on anything, even texts he would comment on any other time. Do I keep texting or leave him alone? Does he realize this is hurting me not being able to see and be there for him? I know he loves me, but how can the communication just stop, like I don't exist. When he starts feeling better, will he remember pushing me away? I miss him and feel so lost wondering how long this will last.

Hello!
Welcome to the community.
It sounds like you are going through a difficult time. I imagine you must be very worried about him.
I hope you will hear from him soon.
Sending you warm wishes<3🌿🌺
@Runner1788 ...I am actually bipolar myself. What I can say is, you need to understand that if he has bipolar, he may not be able to respond. Sometimes it's all we can do to eat, shower, or leave our house. Sometimes we can't even do that. When I'm depressed for a while, I may not answer anything of any kind from anyone. It takes too much to do so, and is not a reflection on anyone else, yourself included. It does not indicate he does not love you, and if he's in a bad way like that, please consider his feelings. I know you mean well, but you saying he's hurting you isn't fair to him. What we go through I wouldn't wish on anyone. Some days people think we're "fine" because we put on a brave face, but people don't see what happens later - that we spend the rest of the day and night crying our eyes out, or sleeping endlessly, so we don't even have time for anything. When your entire world has had the life sucked out of it, there's no room for other people's feelings, when you can barely care for yourself. Please understand this.
Hey, your message has brought relief to me. I’m in a similar situation coming up to 3 weeks of my bf not speaking to me.. Space is Good, maybe you can send him a message saying thinking of you or how are you feeling today. Every once in a while. I feel like I don’t exist either and as the significant other it’s so hard when we feel like we should feel loved bipolar relationships have the Extra need for care, it’s very difficult. Have you Guys talked about his bipolar when he’s in a better state you should talk about how it effects him, how it effects you, and if he would be willing to get help and together be able to build on this? Again, me too waiting wishing it was over it’s nice to see we’re going through the same.
