Rough time
Hi guys! I'm a 20yo male. I've been diagnosed with type II Bipolar disorder when I was 17yo. Since then, I tried a lot of prescribed meds. But i have been off meds for a year now and I've been managing just fine. I'm turning 21 in two days.and Like every year since I can remember, my birthday week is the worst time of the year for me, I get super low, depressed and I feel the loneliest even tho I have a somewhat good support system. Anyone here wanna chat?

Hi forcefulAcres. Bipolar or not, some dates are not easy for people. For some, it's New Years Eve, for others it's bdays, so I totally understand where you are coming from. Maybe you won't be able to change the fact that it is a difficult week for you, but you can be confident that you will feel good again immediately after, what do you think?
Hello forceful, I understand your feelings completely although in my case it might be worse. I have been diagnosed with bipolar 1 over 10 years ago and this is also my birthday week although I am turning 45. After my ailing mother took care of yet again ( had done the same thing 5 years ago) all my ridiculous credit card debts accrued during episodes of my mania and still made me my favorite food and encouraged me saying I should consider myself born again, I have been trying hard to find reasons to stay alive and the only reason I can think of is to mainly at least try to pay back some of the upfronted funds by just working and existing without desiring much out of life. I have to remind myself that my cat needs me and that my ailing parents would be more devastated to see me gone. I am available to chat
