Bipolar: Feeling Out of Touch with Reality

I’ve noticed that I’ve held onto false beliefs about myself for years, and I’ve been having my emotions rule my life, instead of staying grounded in reality. Does anyone have any tips on how to not let my emotions rule me and to keep reality in check instead of believing in delusions?

It might help you to keep a journal.

Allowing you to process your emotions.

Identify triggers and then talk it through to find another perspective 🥰

I also experienced delusions as a part of my illness. It's so difficult to check in with reality when you believe in a different reality. I am trying my best to just focus on today now. I also have mood app where I can write how I feel. It's also best to have someone to talk to.

Thank you for your response! I’ve started to do journaling, and I also have a mood app on my phone that I need to start using more often lol

For me, keeping in touch in reality I like to talk to someone neutral that I can trust. I don't know your complete situation but if you can, remove yourself from untrustworthy people and liars. That's where I started having delusions. Take care.
