Bipolar Warriors March On! - Make the best of your condition
Hello my dear Polar bears!!
Today I want to bring this topic up for your consideration.
In my last post, I spoke about how you can hone into your manic episode and make the best out of it.
This post let us focus on the lows that come with BPD
While suffering the lows we are basically crippled and not in a position to do much and I know this can be challenging!
I found the following very helpful for me:
Allow yourself to go through the lows and sadness as your body needs time to recover from the manic episodes if you have had it. Or else Depression is just a sign that your body needs to tap out for a while and is taking your mind down with it.
There is no harm if you can’t get around to doing some tasks that you have planned. Pulling out of a social meet planned, not able to complete all tasks on your to-do list. These things are ok. You are not doing your best now, so forgive yourself and don’t hold yourself to account for such big goals
Take small baby steps - Have a shower, go outside for a while even if it’s just 5 mins, try and talk to a friend- force yourself even if you feel you don’t have anything to talk about.
Believe that this phase too shall pass. Nothing is permanent and this feeling will pass and you just need to be a bit patient.
DO NOT BUY INTO ANYTHING THAT YOUR MIND TELLS YOU TO DO BASED ON YOUR FEELINGS. A depressed mind always gives you the worst case scenario. Do not believe its lies. Convince yourself that you won’t act on anything that your mind tells you As it’s bluffing.
Try to meditate even if you fail just go through a guided meditation on YouTube for inner peace.
Journal. I can’t tell you enough the advantages of journaling. It validates your thoughts. This is meta cognition - you think about your thoughts and then write them down. Have a conversation with yourself as you are the most interesting person you know.
I hope these steps will help you all. Please comment down below, what other steps do you Take that gives you comfort during the low phases of your BPD.
March on Warriors!!

Polar bears 🥰
What a gloriously warm and kind greeting.
I just wanted to drop by and say keep up the great work you are doing to provide a safe space where people feel safe and supported and most importantly heard and where the rest of us can learn more, and be better equipped to support in the future 💕💜
I LOVE this! Been stuck in depression and my to do lists never seem to get checked. I have been doing better this week. What I noticed is I am doing tasks in spurts instead of long sessions as I typically would or that I saw my mom do. I realized there’s nothing that says I can’t do it in spurts in between my crafts or watching tv 😂.
A simple perception twist. I judge myself on the wrong standards usually.
And the fact I am enjoying activities is something to be hugely grateful for!
