Does schizophrenia means lifetime meds?

I will say first that only a doctor that knows you, your experience, and your history in collaboration with you as the client can determine the answer for this.

I, myself, can’t speak from personal experience. I, do, however, work with individuals with Schizophrenia, and can say many of them have have recognized that they are not able to do what they love, be the best parent/partner/friend that they want to be, etc. without the support of their medications.

I’d like to add that taking medications for a mental health diagnosis is nothing to be ashamed of. Just like we wouldn’t think twice about someone with diabetes using insulin, or someone with high blood pressure taking medication for that, medications can be a very useful tool in managing symptoms associated with Schizophrenia. There are additional evidenced based treatments as well. :)

Yo I'm bipolar schizophrenia and have adult ADHD I do try other ways to try to at least not rely on the medication but to be honest the medicine helps me out a great deal more than anything else that I've tried meditating listening to music trying to stay focused if you can't focus can't do anything your mind being a 100 million places at once so yeah you're probably be taking meds
