If I sit still for too long I start to get so anxious all I can think about is dying.
My anxiety has been getting really out of control the last week and I don't know who to reach out for support, especially without scaring them. I've been copiously self harming and have something like 25+ cuts and on my arms and legs. I feel like such a failure, like I should have left this habit behind in my teens but here I am. I'm exhausted but driving myself forward because if I stop I'll start having another panic attack.
Advice is welcome, so is encouragement.
Hi Marmotunder 😊. You are valid, you are enought, you arent a failure. Even with mistakes, even if the world seems to handle things different or "better".
Then, okay, It isnt seems like the most healthy way to cope with anxiety...so did you tried to talk with a listener here in your moments of stress? Also looking for professional help could help.
Another question, do you know what triggers your anxiety or your panic attacks?

I understand feeling like you’ve failed to leave a harmful habit behind. That being said, you are not a failure! Self harming doesn’t magically stop because you pass your teenage years. Adulthood involves lots of new challenges and you may have gained some new triggers. You are absolutely not the only person feeling panicked and anxious, and your self harm does not encompass and define you as a person or determine your self worth. Like others have said, seeking medical and professional help is definitely an option, and seeking emotional support (which you’ve already done, by being on 7 Cups!) is something to be proud of.
