I have bipolar and schizophrenia
A few months ago I had the worst manic episode to where I moved states literally dropped everything and moved in with a girl I had been talking to for a month we were already inlove and the following month we got married things where great at first but then it started to change long story short now I’m back home lost as ever and confused how do I stop this from happening again because I didn’t even know I was having an episode it seemed so right until it wasn’t
Hi @EshaMW,
I totally understand what you are going through. It’s tough to navigate such feelings when you feel betrayed by yourself.
Firstly, manic episodes make you do a lot of things, some risky, some bad, some good. The issue is post mania comes the crash, which makes you believe everything that happened in mania was a catastrophe!
This is where you need to pause and think, not all that you did was bad. Yes, definitely you did some reckless things, but is that what you truly wanted, if so accept it. Else learn how to undo it or handle it by dealing with it head on.
It’s mainly the fear that imprisons you. Face the fear and address the open things and try to solve what you can. Acknowledge the good you have done, make peace with the bad and know that the current version of your story is highly jaded and is not real.
