New job, new meds. Oh great!
Hey, new to this platform. Im bipolar I and have been diagnosed for almost 3 years, my psychiatrist finally put me on a mood stabilizer, but took away my antipsychotic. Im seeing floating heads, lumberjacks as tall as the ceiling, and little dwarfs crouching on kitchen countertops, im not so worried about the hallucinations, but that my new meds cause me to feel like I've smoked several blunts of weed, and my balance has gone to ***, I keep it all from my family though. But I start a physically demanding job soon so idk how thats gonna pan out....it's my first time being on this platform, im not looking for words of wisdom from Jesus himself, I guess just.....idk. that i dont need to be in the loony bin, which I've been in a couple times before

Hi! I'm Kiara. <3
That all sounds really uncomfortable :( Does it affect your daily life constantly, or is it periodic?
Can they do something about tweaking the meds again, and keep working on them until they find the right mix?
*hugs* <3
Sounds like you need an imaginary friend much in the same as I, my fellow co-patient 🐵

Hard time keeping those hallucinations from keeping you down?
Well, it is easy as knowing the link between "anger & breathing".
1: slow & shallow breathing -for anger thrives on excessive oxygen.
2: imaginary friends! I have them, they work in ways that jesus ✝️ never did for me.

Hi @bubbleSouth1515,
Bipolar mood stabilisers are never meant to cause hallucinations. If you are facing it, you need to speak to your doctor immediately.
Mood stabilisers are basically used to calm your manic and depressive episodes. They cut out the peaks to make it more manageable. It is not supposed to make your drowsy in the day time if you have had a good sleep for 7-8 hrs after taking the medication. It is advised that you take your medication in an extended release format at night and sleep well.
