Non-diagnosed hearing disembodied voices
Hey, I’m kinda new to this but I can’t afford therapy right now and I was hoping that someone with experience might be able to shed some light and possibly help me understand or cope with what I’m dealing with. No I’m not diagnosed but even when I’m in my car alone I can hear multiple voices in the distance commenting on what I’m doing and or thinking and saying. There are multiple of them, different personalities, both male and female voices, and I have no idea how to make it stop. Sometimes when I’m really focused on something they go away but even if I’m having a conversation, I can hear them talking about me in the background like Greek muses. I’d love if anyone would like to reach out or share their own stories with me. Thank you.
@goldenPineapple8589 Unfortunately it is not possible to diagnose the cause of these voices you're hearing by yourself or using the Internet. There are some medical conditions that can cause it, and a doctor can give you an informed opinion on what might help. No one here at 7 Cups can give you medical advice, though.
Without a diagnosis it's not certain that you need therapy. As far as I know, many people who hear voices find that prescribed medication makes them go away completely, or makes them easier to ignore.
