Psychosis is easily the most misunderstood and feared of all mental illness symptoms, second only to self-harm. I hope to use this space to explore this topic in greater depth.

Do you have/know children with Bipolar Disorder? What has your experience with psychosis been like? ({Please, be kind and cordial with your word-choice})

@blitheSun94 i had episodes in elementary school.

Most adults ignored it yet many other students pointed it out to me.

I had a first episode of psychosis when I was 19 years old. I had just finished my first year of uni. I was detained in a psych ward for 6 weeks. I have had 4 psychotic episodes since. I am now 30 years old. It is really wreaking havoc on my personal and professional life.

It is very tough I understand. I hope talking about it helps as a lot of difficult things happen during psychosis that are painful to not only experience but has long lasting affects on a person. you dealt with a lot. take it one day at a time.

It does have a long lasting impact. I feel very socially isolated. It helps sharing on here and reading other people's stories. It makes me feel more connected.

@ShadowTag

You're most welcome. This was one of my earliest symptoms and has been one of my most pervasive. Fortunately, I have been able to detect the relationships between stress, sleep deprivation, nutrition, and psychosis for me - but I still have episodes from time to time.

You're not alone.

Springtime is one of the most active for psychosis as the seasons change.

How is everyone feeling?
