Am I faking my psychosis?
Sometimes I feel like I am making all of this up in my head, the voices, the visual hallucinations, everything. The voices tell me all the time that I am faking and I am not deserving of help. I am diagnosed with bipolar disorde and my psychiatrist is doing a lengthy assesment for shizophrenia. I don't know how to feel anymore.
@ghosttiger100, thank you for reaching out, it takes a lot of courage to do so. Everyone deserves help and you too! I can understand that you feel confused about what is happening to you. It is not unusual to hear the voices saying bad things but you need to remember that these are not the truth and you deserve love and support. If you felt like you need to talk a bit more about it you can send me a private message, I am here for you! Stay strong! :)
@ghosttiger100
I don't think you're faking it. I struggle feeling like I'm faking this sometimes as well, despite being diagnosed by 2 doctors. Something to think is "what would be my motivation for faking this?", especially when it causes distress to us.
Good luck!
Sometimes it helps me believing I don't have so I feel like I'm manifesting it away. When it comes back I recognize it and still tell myself what I'm seeing or hearing isn't real. I remind myself the universe is a good place and tell myself the universe is trying to help me.
@ghosttiger100 stay strong and keep at it. Teaming up with your psychiatrist will help, but it takes time. Thank you for sharing what you are going through with us. It reminds me of when I was first was diagnosed and how bad things were. I was an emotional wreck and also didn't know how to feel. It takes courage to talk about schizophrenia. For me, it was hard because family and friends said no you don't. They didn't know what I was going through. The feelings of loneliness even though I heard voices and would get glimpses of people. I hope me sharing a little gives you hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that reaching out helps light the dark in the tunnel. Stay strong and please keep us updated if you are comfortable sharing :)
@ghosttiger100 I sometimes am unsure too that if it is real or not real or if I am faking it, despite being diagnosed. I am so glad that you are getting the support of your psychiatrist. The voices or hallucinations can be very intense. But you are deserving of all the help and support. :)
