A symptom of an illness?

I have psychosis, but not diagnosed yet. I did some research on psychosis.
My story:
I was confused. I thought I was autistic. Then maybe have a personality disorder or more. When I finally met the term : psychosis, it suited me.
My Q:
Is psychosis a symptom in other disorders, or an illness itself?
