Not a lot of people to talk to

Hi Everybody, I am schizophrenic and I have only a few friends and they are good friends who understand my illness. But I have a tendency to smother them, so I try to stay away from them more than I like. It is hard to make new friends the older I get. Often I feel like I am not good at conversation. Or I joke around which seems to offend people. I keep trying to reach out, sometimes finding people to talk to, but often I guess my wierdness puts people off. I seem to have had more charisma when I was younger (I guess). But I keep trying to reach out. Do any of you experience these things?

@Botoga Hi, I have always had trouble with interactions with people too. Last night I went to a.chat on kindness on here. Helped me feel happy, calm and connected. I am going to try and.find it tonight. It goes on all week, with a kindness path? New here. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. You might want to try it. Won't solve it all but  might help! Good job posting about  this 🤗

Wishing you the best

@BotogaThank you for sharing. It’s really brave to keep reaching out despite the challenges. Many people struggle with feeling misunderstood or worried about how they come across. Your efforts to connect show strength and hope. You’re not alone, and you deserve meaningful friendships.

@Botoga

Hey! As a person living with Bipolar II, I can definitely relate to not being super conversational, or super social in general. I also can relate to making a ton of jokes that don’t always land well. I urge you to join us in the Bipolar/Schizophrenia and Psychosis group chat Fridays at 6PM. I think you’d like it as we are all there for a common purpose. Wishing you the best!! ✨

@Botoga My thoughts are with you. As a person that also suffers from Schizophrenia and Psychosis. I understand the importance of having friends to get out of your head and to bring in new prospectives. I unfortunately have very few friends. You are blessed to have the friends that you have -- cherish them. Sharing this with with you hoping it will help you look on the bright side. Also I am sure you will find your way to more outlets and experiences. Keep seeking the righteous path is coming to you.
