Any teachers dealing with constant negativity?

I'm a special education teacher that works with moderate/severe intellectual disabilities. I absolutely love my job and I can't imagine doing anything else. I'm tired sure, but I am not burnt out. What I am burnt out on is the constant negativity and just almost the expectation that we should hate our job and be burnt out. How is anyone else combating it? The constant negativity is what is draining me, not the job itself.

I’m in a different industry but you make a very valid point. I now wonder if it wasn’t for the negativity I’d feel less burnt out.

Honestly, I like my current job. My supervisor makes my life very difficult though—so I’m looking for something else. I’m exhausted just dealing with her all day. 😔

Hey! I am a foundation phase teacher. I am so burnt out. I’ve been criticised and bullied so badly in my workplace. I say nothing and I stay because I want to have a job. I need my job. But it is so toxic and horrible. There’s so much gossip at the school. Anything I do can easily be misunderstood and I really wish I just had peace.

What do I do?

I drink a lot of camomile tea. I struggle. I try go for therapy when it’s very bad but mostly I force myself to go to work everyday and think about the kids.

If you want we can be like pen pals on here. I’m looking for an anonymous teacher support group. Do you think there is one?
