Feeling Stressed
Why am I getting an uneasy feeling about a previous colleague who filed a complaint about me a couple of years ago? I saw her in the change rooms last night as I was getting ready to leave, she was already changed. She was calling someone, on her way out the door, I heard her say something about asking who the Manager upstairs is (my Manager's name was heard), and that she'll go and talk to her tomorrow (today) because she doesn't want to hear crap about her being spread..
For some reason, I have a feeling she's talking about me. The past week or so, I have spoken to other colleagues about our past conflict (that complaint two years ago), and how she treats me now. Of course, when I talked to these people, I didn't think they'll mention it to others and eventually get back to her. But even if that is what happened and this is what she is to complain to my manager about.. She's repeating the wrong approach again. If she has a problem, or is upset about me "telling the truth" about our previous conflict, come talk to me. If she doesn't feel comfortable confronting me, tell her Supervisor to be the mediator to come talk to me. Don't go straight to my Manager. That's what she did last time, she went straight to her Manager, and I unexpected, got an email from my Manager saying that her and some others are unhappy with some misconduct and I'm to meet both Managers for an Investigative meeting on this day, at this time. When she (they) could've easily replied my text messages, telling me that they feel offended or whatnot, I most likely would've apologized and stopped.
If I were a permanent staff, back then, when that Investigation happened, I was completely depressed for a long time. If I were a permanent staff, I would've requested a Stress Leave. For this time, if her chat is about me again. I'm really going to tell my Manager the entire truth, and how she has been treating me since.
I have another colleague planning for retirement next year, early summer. If this person ends up applying to the position and gets it, I'm going to tell my Manager, there is no way I'll be working the same overlapping shift as her. So, I'll only pick up her sick calls and work for vacation days. And if the Manager does not accept that, I'll quit and focus full-time on my own business and hope that I'll be earning an income equal to a full-time job. There is no way I'm going to be working with her, without having my depression come back. I'm already feeling stressed about it thinking how this may happen in the near future.

Dear Jaeteuk,
It sounds like you have experienced some difficult and challenging situations with this colleague, and it's understandable that you may feel stressed and anxious about the thought of having to work with her again.
♡🦁🌹It's important to take care of yourself and prioritize your mental health, and if you feel that working with this colleague would take a toll on your mental health, then it's important to consider your options and make decisions that are in your best interest.

Remember, it's okay to set boundaries and prioritize your well-being, and if leaving the organization is what you feel is best for your mental health, then it may be worth considering.

Thank you. If that colleague really had something to complain about me again or if she wanted to speak with my Manager because she heard about the other colleague retiring next year, and is interested in her position. I hope my Manager will clarify things with me first. If it's a complaint, hope she hears my side of the story before needing the investigation meeting. If it's really her wanting to join our team after the other person retires, I hope I could tell my Manager my concerns with her. Wait and see if she allows me to stay working only her vacation and sick calls. If not, it's either her or me that stays.
It's been really hard finding another casual staff like myself working in our department. About a year ago, we had trained a second casual staff, as a backup. As there were times when 2 people on the team was having vacation time overlapping. It would work out better if there was a second casual. But the girl we trained, ended up getting a full-time position in a different department of another hospital. So, I continued to be the only casual in our team. It makes sense that people don't want to work as a backup though, or only works as a vacation relief. Because amongst the 5 other colleagues, it's not like they have vacation all through the 52 weeks in a year. So, my income from this job is very unstable. Having months with only a week of work, or even an entire month with no shifts.
If I do leave when that problematic staff joins the team, the new casual will probably need to pick up shifts elsewhere, otherwise, they won't be able to really earn a living just working the vacation weeks in just our department.
My Manager didn't speak to me nor did I receive an email. So, not sure if she went to speak with my Manager or not on Wednesday. Or maybe I'm just paranoid and overthinking that she went to speak with my Manager because she had another complaint about me. Maybe it was regarding something else. Guess I'll have to wait and see. I just hope that I don't get that sudden email again that I'll be investigated. If that's the case, that means this Manager is not that good either, as she doesn't ask for my story first. If she acts the same as the previous Manager, then, it's like no one is on my side. Then, I wonder if I could file a report to the higher ups about the unfairness of the people who treated me indifferently. Or I should just leave the organization altogether.
