What's the best book you've ever read? Why was it so memorable?
@Hope Certainly! The best book I've ever read would have to be 'A Christmas Carol' written by Charles Dickens. The book occupied a special place in my heart due to its masterful storytelling, rich character development, and indeed the profound messages it carries... Dickens' descriptions transport the reader to the Victorian London, where one can almost feel the chilly freezy air and hear the bustling streets during Christmas time.
I love A Christmas Carol! I read the edition that also had The Chimes and The Cricket on the Hearth along with it, which made for a lovely trio. I also have a soft spot for David Copperfield (this is the book Dickens loved most and put the most of himself into, and you can tell) and Great Expectations/Oliver Twist (I read them both when I was really young, so it brings back nostalgia). It’s nice to see another Dickens fan on the platform 😊
