@Supermario08

Hello, there are different types of yoga. To choose which is the right one for you it is important to consider whether you are a beginner as some forms include more difficult poses. There are some also specially designed for e.g. weight loss or pain in the back, so it depends also what is your aim of practicing yoga. The health benefits and relaxation should be included in all forms. If you are a beginner I would recommend starting with Hatha yoga.

In yoga, there are many different poses (asanas), each with its unique variations and effects on the body and mind. Each pose targets specific muscle groups and organs, improving strength, flexibility, and balance. Some poses are calming and help reduce stress, while others energize and boost focus. For example, downward dog strengthens the arms and legs, while child pose helps with relaxation and stress relief.  tree pose enhances balance and concentration, and warrior pose builds strength and endurance. Each yoga pose impacts the body and mind in different ways, offering a holistic approach to health and well-being.

Hey 😊 This may be a late response but I hope helpful. As an instructor and someone who also suffers with anxiety and depression, I highly recommend focusing on Hatha yoga. It's a beautiful balance between strengthening and increasing flexibility, and gaining that mindfulness, and moving meditative state that is so helpful to our mental stability. What's important to remember, no matter which sequence or style you do, a once a week class is not going to give you the amazing effects you're after. 20 minutes a day, goes a far way😊 Stay well🌼

Thanks @iosee ! Great advice. There are so many ppl with anxiety nowadays. I also heard that yoga can help. I'm also trying to practice yoga. I'm new to it, but I found Yanva yoga website really helpful. It explains the causes of anxiety and offers exercises that can reduce stress and anxiety. They as well stated Hatha yoga as the first one to reduce stress and anxiety. And I feel it helps me.

For basic yet effective yogasanas, I’d suggest starting with poses like Downward Dog, Child’s Pose, and Cat-Cow for flexibility and relaxation. If you’re looking for more structured guidance, I came across BetterMe - https://betterme.world/articles/is-betterme-free/ , which has a variety of routines to support both physical and mental health. They offer some great yoga sessions for all levels
