International Bacon Day
Hello everyone, and happy timezones!
Did you know there was an International Bacon Day? Well now you do, and there is also it's branched off day in December on the 30th being National Bacon Day!
What makes this day so important?
In the Ancient times, China, Egypt, and Rome cultures had methods of of preserving pork. However, Rome was the first to take the credit for this idea, and originally called bacon "Petaso". Which created a domino effect, and when the bacon became enriched with salt. In the 19th and 20th centuries, meat production was expanding to the general public.
Did you know that there are 4 different types of bacon widely known?
1. American Bacon
2. Canadian Bacon
3. Pancetta
4. Guanciale
