Gumbo:

Gumbo is a heavily seasoned stew that combines several varieties of meat or seafood with a sauce or gravy.[8] Any combination of meat or seafood can be used.[9] Meat-based gumbo may consist of chicken, duck, squirrel, or rabbit, with oysters occasionally added.

@jesusredeemedme2425  ground meat (sausage, beef, pork), chicken livers/giblets (for authentic flavor), the Trinity (onion, bell pepper, celery), garlic, and Cajun/Creole spices (cayenne, paprika, black pepper).

I usually just use hamburger. I don't do organ meats (livers, giblets)  😝

It can be spicy

Fish & Chips. The most British meal of all. And it wouldn't be fish and chips without a buttered bread cake/bun and scraps with it. Originally where I'm from it had an old fashioned name called 'The Chip Oil' a nickname for a fish and chip shop. And it was always fish and chips on Fridays known as fish and chip Friday. Everyone back in the 60s to 80s always went often after a few drinks if they wanted a quick bite to eat on the way home. And now I want fish and chips lol

Catfish, Cajun or blackened. It's really good; so much more flavorful than simply frying it.

I'm a huge sucker for cornbread and collard greens too.

Black Southern peach cobbler

Where a regular cobbler might taste one-note sweet, a Black folks’ cobbler hits a full chord: sweet, spiced, tangy, buttery. The peaches? Lush and syrupy, tender but not mushy, kissed with brown sugar and spiced just right with a soulful blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and a hint of ginger. Every bite of fruit tastes like it was marinated in memories that are sweet, juicy, and bold, like they’ve been soaking up sunshine and stories all day.
