Multicultural Foods!
What are some of your favorite foods from other cultures? Which foods would you love to try? <3
I love Turkish Delight, fish katsu (Japanese), and sausage rolls (English). Flake is the BEST English chocolate! Like the name implies, it is so incredibly flaky and yummy <3
I want to try White Rabbit candy (China). I got one today and I'm looking forward to trying it! What does it taste like, for those who have tried it? :)

I'm just going to say the obvious ones mainly because its less likely to be shared with other countries. I'm sorry if any of these are inaccurate, I did grow up eating these (those I liked)and seeing these on menus at bars but I didn't try very many peoples different versions of these dishes apart from maybe tortilla de patata, patatas bravas and Paella but paella is very varied because it's one of those dishes that a lot of poor people would make with whatever they had access to so it's quite varied and has strong opinions.
- Patatas bravas, which is potato chopped into relatively big chunks and then cooked. Then served with "salsa brava" which is based off things like onion and tomato and its a little bit spicy but its hard to put a specific recipe to it since obviously everybody makes food slightly differently.
- Fideuá, it's a pasta dish often made in those shallow but wide pots, by pasta its fideos which is like a kind of small pasta and its cooked with tomato and whatever they have at home like some protein like fish some spices.
- Paella, this is well known but I will explain it anyway its a rice dish with tomato and some spices some protein often its chicken but it can be anything really except chorizo don't ask but my Spanish dad has told me multiple times that he had respect for Jamie Oliver up until he put chorizo in paella as if it was proper paella but that's a dad thing so put whatever you want in it.
- Tortilla de patata, pretty simple egg, potato and sometimes onion fried.
- Gazpacho, I don't like it but many people do its a tomato based cold soup with onion and pepper and stuff like that in it.
- Fabada, this is a dish that's Asturiano and its like a bean soup with chorizo and chicken and onion and things like that.
I hope what I said was accurate obviously it will change from place to place and person to person but these are common dishes in Spain. : )

Some of my favorite cuisines are Asian in general, like Japanese (sushi, ramen), Vietnamese (pho, spring rolls) Chinese (schezuan spicy dishes, dim sum). I also love most Italian food (all and any pasta, burrata) Indian (curries, naan, chai) and Mexican (tacos, Nachos, Quesidillas), Greek (calamari, Greek salad, domales, tzatiki).
Recently I have been getting into eating more Turkish foods. (Pide, kebabs, baklava, turkish tea)
There is a lot of good food in the world. I want to try more exotic cuisines like Malaysian, Ethiopian, Egyptian.
As you can see I am pretty obsessed with food in general 😋

I love trying new foods! Some of my favorites are Navaho Fry Bread, Om Ali (Egyptian Bread Pudding), Indian Samosas; Cuban Ropa Vieja, Empanadas, and Medianoche; Moroccan Roast Lamb and Couscous, Jamaican Curry Goat and Pattys, Hawaiian Lau Lau and Lomi Lomi, African Oxtail Stew, Peruvian Lomo Saltado, Mexican Cabeza Burrito, Japanese Ramen (I love Tonkatsu too), Thai Anything, Vietnamese Pho, Lebanese Kibbe, etc.
White Rabbit Candy tastes like sweet milk yogurt. Have you tried Japanese Rice Paper Candy? The clear part dissolves in your mouth. I think the boxes still come with stickers in them.

Lau Lau is a small piece of butterfish, a piece of roast pork (or Chicken) and a piece of pork fat, wrapped in taro leaves and steamed. Most of the time, spinach is used as a substitute for the taro leaves. Lomi Lomi is the Hawaiian version of salsa or ceviche. It's made with chopped raw salmon, onion, green onion, tomato and salt.

A few of my favorites include sesame dumplings filled with red bean paste (China), plum dumplings (Germany), and opera cake (France). I have a huge sweet tooth and all of these cater to it nicely. 🤤
One day I hope to try out amandine (Romanian chocolate cake) and pirozhki (Russian baked/fried buns).

It’s an almond sponge cake layered with buttercream, chocolate ganache and coffee syrup. Very rich, and not too sweet! I love having it for my birthday. 😁
