Play is Universal!
A cry to play has been echoing around the world for many decades now, perhaps since the beginning of time.
When we lose our sense of fun, it is an affront to our nature; we need play and fun as much as anything.
Watch any newborn animal and it will cavort and gambol about. Children need recess and lunch; unstructured fun.
Science has found this allows the mind to learn and grow. Makes you wonder about the point of school then.
And to be honest a lot of people dropped out of school and became successful because they wondered that too.
It's because humans are capable of learning and growing naturally, without a systemic structure to lean on.
The Indigenous and Doukhobor are especially open to this truth. The effects of their cultural genocide lingers.
It doesn't linger with many though. Many still are stuck in resistance and believing there's one way, one way only.
Global truths of play, love, compassion make the world; we are what we think. So what are you thinking today?
And how could you add a bit more joy, fun and play to your day and weekend? Even if it means going neutralize first.
Thanks for reading this post. I hope you find moments to pause and listen to your needs. Here's to the dream.
@Dallady
It's unfortunate that
sometimes we forget this and get lost in the busyness of life. But, as you
pointed out, it's never too late to add a bit more of play into our lives! I’m
not sure if video games count, but I’ve been enjoying them a lot lately. I
never played them as a kid, but now as an adult I decided to give it a try and
have been having a lot of fun! 💜
@Dallady I haven't lost my childishness 😁for Xmas I bought myself a teddy and a train track. And I'm only slightly immature. I write this message from inside my pillow fort 😁😎 love you ❤❤ chicken butts
@Dallady
I love this post and couldn't agree more
What I have noticed is that adults need an excuse to play. They say things like "it's good for your mental health" or "it has health benefits" or "you learn to balance your life" and so on
It's okay to just play and have fun.. not everything has to be about "self-improvement" and "productive"
I think this is so lost in our culture. Playing is for children only
