Safe Spaces: Allyship and Support

Hello my lovely YPOC community! This past year has been a trying time for so many marginalized communities, and with the recent wave of hate crimes against the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities (especially against East Asian-Americans), I thought it might be nice to offer this space as an area of support for all of you You can use this space to express however you are feeling about the recent wave of hate crimes, share resources, tips about how to be a compassionate ally, or any other things that you believe could be helpful! This is a space for all of you, and you can use it in whatever way would best help you!

I am a South Asian-American, so while I am part of the AAPI community, I know my lived experience does not entirely overlap with other members of the community. Some things that I have personally been doing to be a good ally are:

♡ checking in with my Asian friends

♡ supporting local Asian-owned businesses

♡ educating myself about anti-Asian racism, especially within my own community

♡ thinking carefully about my own internal biases

I would love to hear more about other ways I and everyone else can be a good ally, and together we can fight against prejudice
