@FreeAndOpenSpirit I don't think so. If you live in another country, you may not know how to write and read Chinese. I think Chinese is a different language and it is really difficult. If you would like to learn, you can try!

Hello!
I am beginning to learn Chinese as I am moving there in a few months to teach English. Does anyone have any tips for learning? I am starting with Pinyin and then learning characters. I am having a hard time with the different voice intonations that are used to make words sound different, like Xióngmāo means panda and Xiōngmáo means chest hair. Any help or resources would be super helpful!

that's glad to hear! Do you learn Mandarin? Do you go to China or Hong Kong? Learning Chinese is very difficult because English and Chinese is absolutely different such as having more than one verb in one sentence and no grammar.
