What is your favorite language?
I thought it would be really interesting to ask everyone what their favorite language is! Of course, there is no right answer and one language is not better than the other, but please put your favorite language and why! Excited to hear all your answers! 🌍

French
@K87 French is a beautiful language! Do you speak it fluently?

I used to when I graduated from high school. Unfortunately, use it or lose it is real. I can still read it and figure out what it says, roughly, but I can't really understand it if it's spoken anymore (the accent, speed, too many words that sound similar but are not even close in meaning...I'm virtually incapable of translating except for small, slow phrases lol). I can still speak it to the degree that would probably be enough to get by on vacation, but my accent, which was never that good butchers the poor language (I took French 1, 2, -graduation requirements 3, 4, and 5/AP French which I was the only student who was crazy enough to take so I didn't really have a teacher. I would stay after school and complete the assignments while she was in meetings and I sort of babysat her son who was in middle school across a field from the high school and she would pop in before I had to be at cheerleading practice to check my assignments...thank God for her son, he was fluent and a better teacher and the reason I learned anything because she didn't teach due to the lack of students)

My favorite language is Norwegian! I'm trying to learn it, but I wish I could speak to someone who spoke the language instead of using memrise.

I also just realized that I posted here a while back.

I love listening to the Chin or Burmese languages because they almost sounds like singing. I also like listening to Spanish because there are so many beautiful phrases that really don't translate into English which is my first language.
