What languages do you speak/ can you speak?

3. native (won't say). spanish and english. currently learning a little bit of german.

I speak Urdu (national language)

And English (official language)

I can speak Punjabi (native language) but I'm a bit shy in speaking.

I can speak a few small Turkish sentences/words that I learned from the Turkish dramas I watched :p

English and Hangul

I speak Romanian , English and I am learning German. Also I studied Chinese for one year till now and would also like to start Japanese or Korean.

What a cool question! I'm amazed by the diverse range of languages people are answering with. There are so many languages on here and it's so cool how multitalented some people are!

My only language is English, but I've been taking Latin classes for several years in school. While I'm far from fluent, I generally can read, write and sometimes speak in Latin (although the pronunciations can be tricky). Latin is technically a "dead language" -- meaning that it isn't spoken anymore -- but what's interesting is that hundreds of modern languages are rooted in Latin. So, from what I've learned in Latin, I can get rough, basic translations of French, Spanish, Italian, Portugese and other languages since they're so similar.

I find the language fascinating because of its complexity. It has different declensions and conjugations; and very specific processes for declining and conjugating words. It also has "cases", which are fascinating: for instance, a word would be in the ablative case if it's the object of a preposition, the nominative case if it is the subject of the sentence, and the genitive case if it's used to show posession.

I've learned a lot about grammar from Latin, and it's helped improve my writing and vocabulary a lot! I also started learning American Sign Language once, so I know a few (very minimal) signs.
