I have lived or traveled all over the U.S. - AMA
In the United States of America, I grew up in the Northeast, lived in Texas and the Deep South, have family in California and Washington State, and my mother was from New Orleans. The United States is tall and wide and there is still much to explore and learn about it. I have friends in many countries, and love that 7cups provides opportunities for people all over the world to get together and sort out their common problems.

What is your top 3 favorite places to visit?
@ShawnEdgingtonLPC Hi Shawn, as I said, the United States is a huge place and there is still much to discover, but so far the Big Three for me are Yellowstone National Park, Huntington Gardens in LA (and the whole drive down the Pacific Coast on Highway 1), and the Museum of Natural History in New York City (of course, going there gives you an excuse to explore the city as well, which is amazing). There are lesser known jewels enroute to these places - you go there and it is wonderful and you are alone and the place is yours for a few moments.
Also I have to say that Hawai'i is stunning, especially the Haleakala crater on Maui. When you stand on the rim of that crater and watch the clouds flowing up over the edge and down into it, and you gaze over an expanse of ancient cinder cones covering an area the size of NYC, there are just no words. And well, hot lava on the Big Island – HOT LAVA!!
Have you been to the US, and what have you discovered?
Also, I'm one of the few in my family that have NOT traveled to Europe, and I'm dying to go!

I live in Texas but I'm originally from Georgia. Yellowstone is my number one FAVORITE place to visit. I've also enjoyed the ride down the Pacific Coast also - it's beautiful. I just got back from a trip to Yellowstone two weeks ago. Traveling and exploring are ways to help us refresh and its a great self-care. Even memories of these places help me. You are very fortunate to be able to travel.

Do you see any similarities from the Midwest and the South? I'm from th Midwest and I think we like to think we are so different from the south but I don't know
@wittySpruce8187 Hi wittySpruce, well I've traveled through parts of the Midwest, lingered a bit in Colorado and Wyoming, and I know people from other parts of that area, so maybe the main difference is that Midwesterners tend to be a little more laconic than our gregarious Southern brethren. And of course there are those wide, open spaces with the sky that never ends. In contrast, the South has the ancient Appalachians, alligators and catfish, and a lot of "Bless Your Heart" kind of irony. You'll need to watch the Coen brothers movies "Fargo" and "O Brother Where Art Thou" and let me know what you think. That's hardly it in a nutshell, but maybe that gives you a taste.
