International Vulture Day

Hello everyone, and Happy Timezones! 

Did you know that the first Saturday of every September is known for International Vulture Day? Now you do! 

What is important about this Day?

International Vulture Day Is intended to spread awareness about the most highly imperiled bird in the world (mainly North America). Also providing a better understanding for the most misunderstood, and misjudged bird. 

There are two different species of Vulture <3 

1. New World, which are the 7 species found in Americas. 

2. Old World, which are the species that roam within Europe, Asia, and Africa 

What do they have in common? 

Surprisingly, they hold no ancestry to one another nor relation to each other. They are very separate species of Vultures. 

Currently there are 23 types of Vultures that can be found world wide, and 16 of them are sadly endangered species! If you wish to know more about these precious vultures, their history, and things to continue to spread awareness check here; American Eagle Foundation <3
