Cost of almost everything is cheaper in Texas than northern states. Texas does NOT have an income tax! Plenty of grocery stores and restaurants in every big city. Lot of schools, colleges, universities, and professional schools. Weather is not too cold (worst scenario gets in the 20s in winter, depending on which city. It’s generally warmer the more south TX you go. Gets up to 90s in summer). Lot of land in Texas. Lots of outdoor things to do in most towns and cities.

Hi Daisy! I am not from Texas, I am not in Texas right now ... But I like Texas! Some of my very dear friends and family are from TX or live there now. I have been to Texas - does that count? Even a bit? lol :) I've been down in and around Houston area I think and my aunt and uncle now live near Austin, I think. My uncle is 'constantly' referring to the actual little town where they live, but I think the 'big town' haha, big city! that is nearby for them is Austin. Go Cowboys! (insert Stetson hat here!) BIG HUGS for you dear Daisy! <3 Platy

@DaisyBeeBlooming and @Bluebutterfly117183 -
Really? When I think of Texas, the first thing I think about the state is not how green it is or how many gorgeous trees. Hmm... If someone asked me to name a very beautiful and green state, one that has many trees, I would name Kentucky or Tennessee long before Texas. I guess I first think of cities and then like ranches and rodeos, Broncos, horses, Stetsons (lol, am I even spelling that correctly?), BBQs, football, colleges (Texas A&M, example), and HOT. True, Texas does have mild winters which I might enjoy sometimes, but the phrase "gets into the 90s" by someone up above here seems very misleading to me. True, the temperature gets into the 90s in like May-ish, and stays in the 90s or hotter like all days until mid-September? (only half kidding, but it is hot like every day in the summer.) Yes, this analysis of 'hot' is coming from an American who lives much to the north of you guys, but y'all don't have snow (well okay winter 2020-2021 you did)... so y'all don't have snow very often and I would miss that so very much!
All you natives of Texas? What are Texas' things - like State bird, State tree, State song? I'm pretty sure I know your state flag :P State snack? What are some things about Texas or IN Texas that you are most proud of ?
~ Your little sis from up North, Platy
