@blitheSun94 What's the difference between the two? Weave patterns? Which one do you prefer now that you've tried both?

What's crochet? 🤔😧

@Xtrem3 it is like knitting, but with one hook, rather than 2 needles._1675386272.SingleCrochet1-5b2a82a504d1cf00361532e8.jpg

Knitting and crochet are both fabric arts with many different stitch options. They are similar, but different.

Knitting involves using two knitting needles to form loops from one needle to the other and throwing the yarn a little bit differently. It tends to result in a softer product:

Crochet involves one crochet hook and forms loops directly on the piece. Crochet is a bit more complex in my opinion, but also more fun! It tends to work up a little faster than knitting:

@blitheSun94 Nice explanation! I have not yet tried knitting.

I agree that crochet seems to work up faster, and I feel like it has more diverse stitches.

@blitheSun94 I tried to learn to chrochet, but I ended up angrily throwing it out the window.

@unassumingcoconut123 aww, that does not sound relaxing at all!

It can be frustrating at first. It helped me to watch tutorial videos, or watch someone else do it (slowly). But if crochet or knitting are not for you, that's ok too!

Do you have other hobbies that you enjoy?

@unassumingcoconut123 well, skateboarding is good exercise! So in that way, it can be a stress-reliever.

@unassumingcoconut123

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that although I can relate - lol. Learning a new skill is tough, even with the information highway at our fingertips. It's not for everyone. Both my mother and her mother crocheted one project and never picked it up again. They found it boring. My father's mother, however, was an avid knitter. I do both, so there's some potential there.
